Replicate (transitive verb): Duplicate, repeat.

Example: “Replicate a statistical experiment.”

Welcome to the statistical consulting practice of James Garrett, LLC. I’m passionate about applying probabilistic thinking to solve important problems. I have almost three decades of experience in industry supporting product optimization, troubleshooting, and exploratory modeling. Most of the products in question have been clinical diagnostic assays, which are the source of much of the data statisticians analyze.

“Replication” is the research methodology term referring to repeating a study (with new data), analyzing the new data, and reaching the same conclusions as before. (Some refer to this as “reproduction”.) Fundamentally, the goal of statistical work is to reach results that can replicate. It’s surprisingly easy to generate results that fail to replicate, and surprising how few statisticians take particular efforts to safeguard replicability.
